Johns Hopkins Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Day

NFOSD Exhibit table at Johns HopkinsVolunteer clinicians and researcher from Johns Hopkins hosted a National Foundation of Swallowing Disorder (NFOSD) exhibit table on April 20, 2013 (pictured on left) at their head and neck cancer awareness day conference in Baltimore. This was a full day conference of presentations and discussion by physicians, clinicians, and researchers focused on head and neck cancer prevention, detection, and treatment.

Of the approximately 70 conference attendees, about 40% stopped by the NFOSD booth to collect information on swallowing disorder awareness, swallowing research, and patient/caregiver support.

The NFOSD team wishes to thank those at Johns Hopkins who took time out of their Saturday to host this table as well as those that stopped by to talk with the NFOSD volunteers.

If you have an interest in hosting an NFOSD table at future events, please send us an email at info@nfosd.com. We will supply you with table orientation knowledge and all the material needed to host a successful exhibit table. We can also match you with an event near your home, other volunteers, and specific areas of interest (e.g., pediatric dysphagia, Parkinson’s disease, stroke) if specified. We look forward to hearing from you.
