Many chairs will be vacant at our Thanksgiving table this year as members of our communities and families sit this one out because dysphagia takes no holiday! The inability to swallow- to eat and drink will leave those we care most about alone and isolated because they cannot commune with family and friends over a shared meal.
In this season of gratitude and abundance as we give thanks for all of our many blessings…
Let us also include our appreciation for the ability to swallow by showing support for the National Foundation of Swallowing Disorders www.nfosd.com whose mission is to improve the quality of life for those suffering from all types of swallowing disorders.
The NFOSD takes this opportunity to express gratitude for all of the many patients, caregivers, doctors, speech pathologist, friends, families and supporters who continue to persevere in the face of immense challenges. We draw strength from your courage and continue to be your partner in this journey and always with the hope that next year you will join us at the table.
The Season of Giving
In solidarity with those who can’t eat or drink this Thanksgiving, will you donate the cost of a slice of pumkin pie and a cup of coffee? We’re helping people with swallowing disorders every day and your donation lets others know you care! Click the donate button in the upper right hand corner of this web page; any amount can be entered and all donations are deeply appreciated (and tax deductible).
