Good Morning.
My father is a head & neck cancer survivor, living on a peg tube. His doctors have informed us that his epiglottis is severely damaged, causing 3 bouts of pneumonia in the past 3 years. He has become very weak, and is telling us he’s drowning in mucus, causing severe anxiety for him. The suggested cough medicine doesn’t really work. I read here that gargling with ginger ale may help? Can anyone offer additional advice for some comfort? He also suffers from chronic pain in his neck. He wears a neck brace, takes suggested pain medication, but it seems like nothing is really helping. Any advice on how to deal with pain from radiation is greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance!
Lisa
