Tube feeders and caregivers in the Boston area needed: 2/28 – 3/1 ($200 fee paid)

The NFOSD would like to alert appropriate interested parties to this opportunity to support feeding tube research and earn some money at the same time. This opportunity is being coordinated by the Oley Foundation (

A research company is looking for patients and caregivers to give feedback on a prototype of a new tube feeding pump. Participants must have at least 6 months of experience using a pump. Adolescent (13+ y.o.) and adult patients are invited to participate, as well as caregivers of pediatric patients. Note that patients / caregivers who participated in the May focus group or July one-on-one product evaluation interviews are not eligible to participate in these sessions.

The company will be holding 2.5-hour, in-person interviews in Concord, MA (about 30-45 minutes west of Boston) on February 28 and March 1 between 8:30 am and 6:15 pm. Upon special request, evening appointments may be available.

The study involves a one-on-one interview. If you decide to participate, you will interact with and perform hands-on, simulated tasks with the feeding pump. After you complete the tasks, researchers from the company will ask you some questions about your experience using the pump.

The company will compensate you $200 for your time.

If you are interested in participating, call the Oley Foundation at (800) 776-6539 and indicate you are interested in the tube feeding pump interviews.

The opportunity is offered on a first come, first served basis so we encourage you to call soon if you are interested in participating.

Thank you for your time and consideration. Along with the reward of knowing that you’re making a difference in product development, know that you are supporting Oley programs as well; the company compensates Oley for coordinating this effort.
